PEFSAD
Accessible to all Quebec residents over 18 years of age, the Financial Assistance Program for Domestic Help Services (PEFSAD) is an incentive for using the services of domestic help social economy businesses.
The amount of the financial assistance granted by PEFSAD is calculated based on the age, family situation, household income, and health status of the person receiving the services.
This discount comes in two forms:
- A discount in a fixed amount of $4 per hour of service rendered, accessible to any person eligible for the program;
- An additional discount in a variable amount ranging from $2.63 to $21.04 per hour of service rendered, determined based on a calculation chart that takes the revenue and family situation of people over the age of 65 or people under 65 years of age with a reference from an Integrated Health and Social Services Centre (CISSS) or an Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre (CIUSSS) into account.
The beneficiary therefore only pays the difference between the rate demanded by the business and the amount of assistance granted by PEFSAD.

Tax credit for home-support services for seniors
The tax credit for home-support services for seniors is a financial aid equivalent to 36% of the expenses paid for eligible home support services. This credit is in addition to the financial assistance provided by PEFSAD.
The eligible expenses that you are entitled to claim differ according to the place you live and your family situation.
